Education Director

Devorah Leah Sandhaus

With over two decades of experience in education, Devorah Leah Sandhaus serves as the Educational Director of Cheeryos with vision, warmth, and deep expertise. She has taught in nearly every type of classroom, across a full range of ages and stages—and brings to her role a rare combination of hands-on experience, educational insight, and heartfelt Chassidishe values.

Devorah Leah is a master of curriculum design, classroom systems, and child-centered learning. Her leadership style is both nurturing and intentional, and she approaches every aspect of school life with thoughtfulness and care. Under her guidance, classrooms at Cheeryos are calm, creative, and full of simchah—places where each child is seen, valued, and supported in their individual journey of growth.

With a strong emphasis on a whole-child approach, Devorah Leah ensures that each learning environment is purposefully designed and infused with a rich Yiddishe and Chassidishe ruach. She thoughtfully creates experiences that engage children emotionally, socially, cognitively, and spiritually—allowing each child to shine in their own way.

As an experienced educator and leader, she mentors our staff with clarity, empathy, and dedication. She is deeply committed to supporting educators in their shlichus of chinuch, while building strong relationships with families and creating a collaborative, trusting school culture.

At her core, Devorah Leah is a passionate mechaneches who believes that children thrive when they feel secure, respected, and inspired. In her role as Educational Director, she brings out the best in her students, her team, and the entire Cheeryos experience.
